7 Best Luxury facials in London

APRIL 8, 2022

If you’re looking for the best luxury facials in London, these treatments should be on your radar. From hydrotherapy to skin peels and micro-needling, these London facials will leave you feeling on top of the world.

Your face is the outward image that you project to the world. As the skin on our face is much thinner than on our body, it deserves to be treated differently. Facials will help you to look your best and combat the effects of pollution and fatigue.

Best Luxury Facials in London

There’s a great range of professional facials available in London, from chemical peels to microdermabrasion and oxygen facials. Here’s our pick of the best luxury facials that will make a real difference to your skin.

1. Pietro Simone Replenishing Facial

Nestled in the luxurious Flemings Hotel in Mayfair, Pietro Simone’s salon is a haven of tranquility. Skincare expert Pietro Simone has treated many celebrities such as Fearne Cotton and Lisa Snowdon.

My treatment was with expert therapist Payal, who assesses your skin and adapts your facial to your specific concerns. In my case, this was mild rosacea on the cheeks, as well as thread veins around the nose and on the chin. Also known as spider veins, they form when valves weaken and blood vessels grow larger.

Payal also used the Dye-VL Anti Redness Laser to specifically target these areas. This innovative tool combines Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT) with Intense Pulsed Light technology (IPL) to reduce or eliminate the veins in a process known as photothermolysis.

There is no downtime involved, although you may have some redness for a few hours. I was left with smooth, radiant skin and greatly reduced facial veins.

Pietro has also created The Fierce Skin Stimulator, an innovative at home skin treatment. This clever skin gadget uses EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation), LED (Light Emitting Diode) and RF (High Radio Frequency) to assist collagen repair and improve lymphatic drainage. I tried this in the salon but have not tried it at home so cannot attest to the long-term benefits, but it’s easy to use and painless.

2. Biotec Radiance Renew

Elemis is famous for its performance driven skincare and beauty treatments. You can experience them at the charming Spa InterContinental Park Lane in Mayfair.

Their Bio Tec Radiance Renew Facial is tailored to your skin’s specific needs. At the beginning of the treatment, your therapist will ask about your skin concerns and adapt the facial accordingly.

Spa InterContinental is a luxurious haven with five treatment rooms and a dry flotation therapy room. There’s also a VIP treatment suite that’s suitable for couples or private parties.

They specialize in facials and skincare treatments by Elemis, the renowned British brand. Biotec facials are available for men and women and there are also specific eye and neck treatments.

We like the Radiance Renew facial for its immediate effects and targeted results. This particular facial combines the use of natural active ingredients with innovative Biotec technology. The Biotec machine offers 5 different technologies: galvanic polarity, light therapy, O2 infusion, microcurrent and ultrasonic.

Your therapist will use the most appropriate tools for your skin concerns. The ultrasonic ceramic plate feels like a slight buzz on the skin. It vibrates 2700 times per second to remove dead skin cells and boost collagen production.

The O2 infusion is fantastic for targeting fine lines and plumping the skin. Our therapist also used the galvanic tool to open our pores and remove any impurities.

The results are impressive, with our skin looking visibly brighter and super smooth. Fine lines appeared to be minimized and our mild rosacea was completely soothed.

The effects lasted for several weeks and a course of several treatments is recommended. The price is £110 for 60 minutes or £160 for 90 minutes.

2. HydraFacial

What exactly is a HydraFacial? It’s been described as the ultimate medical facial, and is perfect for rejuvenating skin, treating fine lines and wrinkles, as well as oily skin and hyper pigmentation.

Although it’s a medical treatment, it is non-invasive, and the treatment is less abrasive than microdermabrasion and generally gives better results. You can try a HydraFacial at Waterhouse Young in London.

Founded by the UK’s leading cosmetic surgeon, Norman Waterhouse, it offers clients an alternative to invasive treatments. You fill in a detailed questionnaire about your skincare concerns before meeting one of the team for a skincare consultation and Visia complexion analysis.

This high-tech machine goes beneath the skin’s surface to assess sun damage, rosacea, wrinkles, bacteria and pores. The treatment itself includes a deep cleanse, followed by exfoliation with a HydroPeel tip, to remove dead skin cells and impurities.

Each HydroPeel tip has multiple edges to exfoliate the skin while simultaneously infusing it with hydrating and moisturizing serums. In the final stage of the treatment, LED lights are shone onto your skin to boost circulation, reduce redness and stimulate collagen production.

For the best results, you would ideally have a treatment per week for six weeks, however you should see an immediate improvement in plumpness and hydration.

3. IS Clinical Fire and Ice Peel

Head to Harley Street for the facial that celebrities swear by. This express treatment will have you red carpet ready in next to no time.

The IS Clinical Fire and Ice Peel is a results driven facial by Dr Pradnya Apte. She is known as the Lip Dentist for her pioneering work in facial aesthetics and pain free lip injections.

Dr Apte qualified as a dental surgeon but is focusing on her passion for aesthetics and rejuvenation. She has clinics in world renowned Harley Street, London and Exeter, Devon.

The Harley Street clinic is located within a beautiful Georgian townhouse. Dr Apte immediately puts you at ease with her no nonsense approach to facial treatments.

She recommended the Fire and Ice Peel for me. It is suitable for all skin types and there is zero downtime.

For the first few minutes, you experience a slight tingling, which changes to a skin tightening effect. There are two ways to have the peel:

  • Fire and Ice Peel by itself – 30 mins £80.00
  • Fire and Ice Peel followed by a Deesse PRO Led Mask treatment – 45 mins £100

This peel uses the purest pharmaceutical grade ingredients to encourage skin cell turnover and resurface the skin safely. The fire part of the peel contains glycolic acid (AHA) sugar cane extract, retinol (Vitamin A) & niacinimide (Vitamin B3).

During the ice part of the facial, a regenerating mask is applied, containing hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, green tea, grape seed and rosemary. It will leave your skin glowing and hydrated for weeks afterwards.

Pores appear to have disappeared and skin texture is visibly smoother. We felt confident enough to go to several events without any concealer or foundation.

4. Lifting Facial by Vaishaly

The Vaishaly clinic are renowned for their award-winning facials and eyebrow threading. In fact it’s Vaishaly who pioneered threading in the UK.

The salon is conveniently located close to Marylebone High Street. It’s a welcoming space with flickering candles, cosy treatment rooms and a nail bar.

Vaishaly believe that less is more when it comes to facial treatments. This means using the latest technology and effective massage techniques to regenerate your skin.

Whether you book a treatment with Vaishaly herself or one of her colleagues, you’ll love the results. I was lucky to experience a Lifting Facial carried out by Nancy.

She first asked about my skin concerns before explaining how the lifting facial works. This results driven facial uses galvanic and microcurrent to stimulate skin and lift your facial muscles.

It’s considered by some to be a non-surgical face lift, for its ability to regenerate tissue. Nancy used a galvanic wand device to work on my face and neck.

You may well feel a tingling effect during the treatment, as I did under the nostrils. It’s not uncomfortable and your therapist will adjust the power level if necessary.

The final stage of the facial is a relaxing massage on your shoulders and neck. I could see an immediate improvement to my face.

The mouth area was lifted and my whole face was glowing and smooth. The lifting facial works well for a one-off treatment before a special event, or as a series of 12 treatments.

The Lifting Facial costs £125 for 55 minutes or £175 for 80 minutes.

5. My Kinda Skin Prescription Facial

For a truly effective skincare treatment, try the bespoke prescription facial at Jiva Spa. Located within the luxurious St James’ Court, a Taj hotel, this award-winning all natural spa specializes in Indian healing techniques.

My Kinda Skin Facial is a powerful treatment which uses natural ingredients. My expert therapist, Maria, analyzed my skin and prepared a tailored treatment.

This facial includes a relaxing scalp massage, together with a bespoke face and décolleté massage. Maria also used some elements of the Power Breakfast Facial. This revitalizing facial combines a deep power cleanse with a purifying clay mask, lymph drainage techniques and a scalp massage.

There’s no downtime after your facial treatment. My skin looked immediately smoother and all blemishes had disappeared.

It’s hard to resist touching your face as it is super soft and radiant!

Maria advised me after the treatment that for continued results I should use more eye cream, exfoliate more frequently and also use skin masks – all great advice that I need to do more often!

Before having your bespoke facial treatment, you can also opt for a massage. I had a combination of the Vishrama Deep Tissue Massage and the Pehlwãn Mãlish Warrior Massage, as well as a foot bath with ashwagandha, ajwain and limbu (Indian lime) essential oils.

The Vishramam massage uses hot poultices containing cinnamon, eucalyptus and peppermint to soothe sore muscles. It’s similar to a hot stone massage but the poultices can be used in more ways and they feel even more effective.

The Pehlwan massage is ideal if you’ve got tension in your body. Traditionally, Indian wrestlers took these vigorous massages to iron out the knots in their head, back and shoulders. It certainly left me feeling on top of the world!

6. Timeless Prodigy Anti-Ageing Facial

This anti-ageing facial uses products by Skeyndor, the top Spanish skincare brand. It takes place at The Peak Health Club & Spa, one of London’s most prestigious health clubs, located within the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Belgravia.

Spread over several floors, there’s a state of the art gym and a member’s lounge. The highlight is the 20 metre swimming pool with its panoramic views over London.

The Timeless Prodigy facial begins with a holistic welcome ritual with Shiatsu and Thai massage techniques to rebalance energy. This is followed by a detoxifying massage with a champagne jelly elixir, then a regenerating concentrate of damask rose stem cells to reduce the effects of biological ageing.

After this, a 3D collagen mesh mask is applied in order to firm the face and neck. Finally, your therapist applies a rich white truffle extract cream to illuminate the skin.

The whole treatment is so relaxing that you may well fell asleep.  Skin feels more supple and refreshed. You can purchase Timeless Prodigy creams and gels to continue the effects of the treatment at home.

The spa has been recently refurbished.

What are the Benefits of Facials?

All professional facials will have some benefits, although to see the best effects you need to have them regularly. Once a month is a good frequency, or at the start of each new season.

These are some of the advantages of having a professional facial:

  • Your skin will be assessed by an expert who will adapt your skin treatment accordingly.
  • Estheticians can do an in-depth exfoliation with chemical exfoliators, to thoroughly cleanse your skin and remove dead skin cells.
  • These treatments are great for reducing stress and tension. They often include a head massage.
  • The salon will have professional tools such as LED lights and radio frequency that you can’t use at home.
  • Most facials have limited down time, apart from possible temporary redness.
  • It’s usually possible to request an at-home skin treatment plan using products that have already been tried on your skin.
